Roast pork with apple sauce and crisp, crunchy crackling; bangers and mash or the salty, fatty hit of a bacon sandwich – the mere ideas are enough to get us licking our lips. The meat sold here comes from our own herd and that at Challon’s Combe Organics, a Devonshire ‘Pasture for Life’ dairy farm which also produces outdoor-reared pigs using similar methods to us. Both are grown slowly and spend their lives outdoors, wallowing and foraging to their heart’s content all of which produces juicy, succulent and deeply flavoursome meat that’ll have you reaching for seconds.
